Does my insurance cover single-vehicle accidents, or are these excluded?
All Rent WA insurance includes coverage for single-vehicle accidents. We believe we are the only rental vehicle provider whose insurance does not exclude single-vehicle incidents. The standard of cover you opt for will dictate your level of damage liability on the vehicle. All insurance cover remains subject to Rent WA’s Terms and Conditions.
What is gold insurance cover?
Rent WA’s Gold Insurance Cover reduces your damage liability on C-class vehicles to $2,200 and 4WDs and Trucks to $2,500. It is not available on Crane Trucks. All insurance coverage is subject to Rent WA’s Terms and Conditions.
What is Platinum insurance cover?
Platinum Insurance Cover is Rent WA’s premium insurance cover, which reduces your damage liability on C-class vehicles to $550. Trucks and 4WDs to $770 and Crane Trucks to $5,500. All insurance coverage is subject to Rent WA’s Terms and Conditions.
Does RentWA restrict driving times when outside the metropolitan area?
The insurance cover offered by many rental providers is excluded when driving between dusk and dawn outside the Metropolitan Area. Rent WA does not have this exclusion. All insurance cover does, however, remain subject to Rent WA’s Terms and Conditions.
Where are you situated?
Rent WA has two conveniently located branches in the Perth Metropolitan area.
Can you provide drivers with your vehicles?
No, we do not provide drivers with any of our vehicles.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards only. We do not accept EFTPOS payments, cash or Diners Club.
Is there a charge for cancelling my reservation?
There is no charge if you cancel 24 hours before your pick-up date.
Does RentWA charge any admin or vehicle recovery fees?
No, Rent WA has no hidden admin or vehicle recovery fees.
I am under 25 years of age. Do I have to pay a surcharge?
A young driver’s surcharge may be levied for drivers under 25.
Do I have to pay a deposit or bond?
Yes, a $500 bond is payable on the pick-up of the vehicle. The bond will be charged on collection and refunded to you once the vehicle has been returned on time, fully fuelled and without damage.
Do you charge extra for more than one driver?
No, there is no charge for additional drivers.
Do you have any other charges that I should know about?
Sometimes, we may charge you for fuel and excess kilometres from using our vehicle. A fuel charge will apply if you do not fully fuel the vehicle before return. Excess kilometre charges may apply if you travel more than your total kilometre allowance. These charges will be explained to you upon pick-up of your vehicle.
Do you offer one-way rentals?
No. All vehicles must be returned to the pick-up location by 6.30 am on the agreed return day.
Can I prepay for fuel?
Yes, for your convenience, we offer you the opportunity to prepay for your fuel. This means you won’t have the hassle of having to refuel your vehicle before returning it. Speak to a Rent WA team member for details.
What is a Goldstar All-Inclusive Package?
Take the hassle out of your rental experience and opt for one of our Goldstar All-Inclusive Packages. The following services are included in the price: daily rental cost, Platinum insurance cover, 100 kilometres per day plus fuel for 100 kilometres per day.

Can I reduce my damage liability?
Your level of liability in the event of damage, regardless of fault, can be reduced at the commencement of the hire. We offer two options, our Platinum and our Gold Cover, and Rent WA Terms and Conditions will still apply. You will be advised of these options on pick-up of the vehicle. If travelling interstate, your damage liability cannot be reduced and will remain at $4,400 or $5,500, subject to Rent WA’s Terms and Conditions.
What is my damage liability?
All Rent WA vehicles are comprehensively insured and subject to our rental agreement’s terms and conditions. Your damage liability on the vehicle is payable in case of any incident resulting in loss or damage to the vehicle, regardless of fault. The level of liability can be reduced at the commencement of the hire. Please see accessories for further information, or speak to a Rent WA team member on pick-up, who will advise you on your options.
Are there any areas where the vehicles cannot travel?
Our vehicles can travel anywhere in Western Australia and also interstate. However, the Rent WA Terms and Conditions must be complied with at all times.
When can I pick up my vehicle?
Your vehicle will be available from 7 am on the day of collection.
What should I bring when I come to collect the vehicle?
All drivers will need to provide a current driver’s licence, which must be valid for the class of vehicle being hired. If you are unsure about licence requirements, please ask a Rent WA team member. You will also need to bring payment.
Why do I have to pick the vehicle up by 6.30 am?
Our rental rates are based on a maximum rental period of 23.5 hours. Pick-up is available from 7 am on the day of collection, and the vehicle must be returned to our depot by 6.30 am on the day of return.
Can the vehicle be picked up in the afternoon?
Vehicles can be collected after 7 am on the day of pick-up. They must, however, still be returned by 6.30 am on the day of return. Suppose the vehicle is available in the afternoon of the day before your booking. In that case, we may contact you to offer you an early pick-up at no additional charge.
When do I have to return my vehicle?
The vehicle must be returned to our depot by 6.30 am on the day of return.
Do I have to refuel the vehicle?
The vehicle will be fully fuelled on pick-up, and we recommend you return it full. A charge will be levied if the vehicle is not fully fuelled on return. The current refuelling litre price will appear on your rental agreement, and you will also be advised of this upon pick-up.
Suppose you don’t want the hassle of having to refuel your vehicle. In that case, we suggest you opt for our fantastic Goldstar All-Inclusive Package or our convenient prepaid fuel option. Please speak with your RentWA team member about these services.
Can I return the vehicle after hours?
We have an after-hours secure key drop. Please ask for details when you collect your vehicle.
Can I return the vehicle to a different location?
Please get in touch with a Rent WA team member to discuss your requirements. Please note: if available, a one-way drop-off fee will apply.
How old do I have to be to rent a vehicle?
You must be at least 21 to rent any of our vehicles.
Do you accept a provisional driver’s license?
No, a full driver’s licence, valid for a minimum of 1 year, is required to rent a vehicle.
What is the biggest vehicle I can drive on a standard car driver’s license?
The largest vehicle you can drive on a car driver’s licence is a C Class Moving Van, which is perfect for moving house or simply shifting those hard-to-move items. It’s easy, convenient and very affordable.
